From Japan, South Korea and Australia, all the way to Iran, Iraq, and Uzbekistan, Asian players have moved to Europe to advance their football career. At Football Channel Asia, we start tracking performance rating of Asian footballers who currently play at top seven European leagues of England, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands and Turkey.
The following are the current rankings of top 20 players who have made at least four appearances for their club this season so far:
1. Park Joo-Ho (South Korea)
The left-back who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund of German Bundesliga has made two league appearances and two Europa league appearances. Even as a defender, he has managed to score one goal, and provide one assist so far. His passing accuracy is an impressive 82.5%, therefore, his high rating of 7.53 out of 10.
2. Son Heung-min (South Korea)
The Korean attacking midfielder is currently playing for Tottenham of Premier League. He has had three league appearances so far as well as one appearance at Europa League. During his appearances, he has managed to score three goals. His rating is 7.38.
3. Ali Adnan (Iraq)
The Iraqi leftback is currently playing for Serie A’s Udinese. Adnan has played in all eight matches of Udinese this season, and his rating stays at 7.26.
4. Shinji Kagawa (Japan)
The Japanese attacking midfielder, currently playing at Borussia Dortmund of German Bundesliga has had eight league appearances, and has bagged two goals, and has provided three assists so far. His passing accuracy is 85.6%, with rating of 7.15.
5. Rostyn Griffiths (Australia)
The defensive midfielder of Dutch league’s Roda has made nine appearances this season with the rating of 7.14.
